Cellar-dwellers Changchun Yatai FC square off with league leaders Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao FC at the Development Area Stadium this Sunday, July 17 in a battle between the top and bottom ends of the current 2016 Chinese Super League table.

Changchun Yatai is currently at the bottom of the 16-team CSL table after being winless in five of their last six assignments. Their only win in the last six weeks came from a 1-0 home upset over Henan Jianye in late June.

The team is tied on points with fellow bottom two squad Shandong Luneng, but the latter has a superior goal difference, thus gaining 15th place in the overall standings.

Changchun is coming off a disappointing 0-1 loss to lowly club Hangzhou Greentown FC also at their home ground in Changchun last Sunday, as per Soccerway.

Brazilian striker Anselmo Ramon provided the lone goal of the contest with five minutes left before full time off an assist by fellow import and countryman Denilson Gabionetta, giving head coach Lee Jang-soo's side their second straight loss.

Meanwhile, Guangzhou Evergrande continued with its dominating performance this season as it demolished Chongqing Lifan FC, 4-1, at the Tianhe Stadium also last Sunday, Xinhuanet reported.

Brazilian winger Alan Carvalho opened the scoring at the fifth minute before Chongqing's Argentine forward Emanuel Gigliotti equalized it at the 33rd.

Another Brazilian, Ricardo Goulart, scored at the stroke of halftime to give head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari's men a 2-1 lead at the break.

Brazilian midfielder Paulinho then scored two minutes after the restart to make it 3-1 before Goulart scored his second goal of the evening at the 76th from a pass by local striker Gao Lin to complete the defending champions' four-goal haul in the match.

The Southern China Tigers are overwhelming favorites to repeat their 3-0 win over Changchun during their first meeting this season back in March.

The predicted result is a 3-0 romp for Guangzhou Evergrande.
