According to Xinhua, the 22-year-old Martinez, who is a native of Cartagena de Indias, is regarded as one of the brightest future stars of the current Colombian football. With impressive game performances this season, he will be representing his country at the upcoming 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil this August.
Born in the year 1994, Martinez initially had a trial with the Boca Juniors. The club was said to have been impressed with the Columbian national but did not retain his services as he was too young. In 2013, he finally signed with Racing Club, where he netted one goal in 14 appearances.
Martinez made his return in the 2015-16 season, where he scored 7 goals in 15 appearances after being loaned to lower-division clubs
These stellar performances led Martinez to enter the national football team of Colombian, where he has registered one goal in four caps to date. According to Get French Football News, Martinez is now traveling to China to complete his big money transfer to Jiangsu Suning.
Jiangsu Suning is currently the second-top team in the Chinese league.
