A creepy photo of a motorcycle accident in Kentucky shows what appears to be a human shaped figure floating in the air above the accident scene. Some comments on Facebook surmised the apparition might be the soul of the stricken motorcycle driver leaving his body.

The photo, which has since gone viral, was taken from the car of a passing motorist named Saul Vasquez. Vasquez, who swears he hasn't altered the photo in any way, said he took the photo along Highway 15 near Stanton, Kentucky, on July 12.

"I took this picture just few minutes ago from the cab of my truck it was an accident between Campton and Stanton on the service road just off of the mountain parkway, zoom in and pay attention to the shadow just off the top of the state trooper hat. All I say is I hope everyone involved is okay!!" he posted on Facebook.

What's visible above the trooper's hat is a thin, transparent figure in the shape of a human being hovering above the heads of police, first responders and bystanders.

Vasquez said he didn't know what happened to the victim at the time, writing. The unidentified crash victim was later pronounced dead at a hospital shortly after, according to local news sources.

A news anchor Marni Hughes in a Seattle program commented the ghostly figure "almost looks like (the Virgin) Mary." I don't know. It could be an angel. It certainly looks like something."

"It seems like the figure is sort of gesturing to him," said her fellow newscaster David Rose, "so other people think that it's the body going up, hopefully to heaven."

Comments on Vazquez's Facebook post called the apparition "freaky" and "amazing." Some said the figure might be the victim's soul or a supernatural entity. Vazquez's Facebook has been shared over 7,600 times as of Thursday.

The image on the photo might also have been caused by a glitch in Vasquez's camera, or might just be the result of a play between light and shadow on the trees in the background.
