Ghana national team captain Asamoah Gyan seemed to have conceded his future with Chinese Super League club Shanghai SIPG as "50-50" after the Massive's acquisition of Brazilian forward Hulk this summer.

The 30-year-old striker had been hounded by various and recurring injuries throughout his so far one year stay with the Shanghai giants, which limited his appearances to only 10 last season and another 10 this year.

He had never met the club's expectations since they signed him in July of 2015 from UAE club Al Ain FC and gave him a £227,000 per week contract which made the Accra native the highest-paid footballer in China and also one of the highest-paid footballers in the world during that time.

Now, that distinction is held by his rumored replacement, the 29-year-old Brazilian Hulk, who had tied with Lionel Messi as the second highest-paid footballer in the world with a £327,000 weekly paycheck.

Even Shandong Luneng's newly-acquired striker, Graziano Pellè, is now richer with a £260,000 per week deal from Taishan Dui.

Ghana Web reported that Gyan has admitted that "his persistent injuries coupled with the presence of Hulk have brought him down in the selection pecking order", which mean it could be the beginning of the end of his career in China.

"For now is like I'm not reliable that is why they brought in Hulk from Brazil and he is going to be part of the strikers so my situation at Shanghai SIPG is complicated but I'm looking at options," Gyan said. "Hulk will be part of the strikers but definitely he will be the preferable choice upfront due to my persistent injuries. So my future at Shanghai is 50-50."

Meanwhile, Gyan also denied rumors that he is being lured by English Premier League side Chelsea to move to the Stamford Bridge this summer, although he confirmed that there were offers coming from "a host of clubs", as per Ghana Soccernet.

"I deal with paper work. I have not received any offer from Chelsea I think they are all rumors but I have received a lot of offers from different clubs," he said in a radio interview.

"And I will take a decision when the right time comes. I am still observing things," he added.
