"Keeping today's technology-savvy millennials in mind, we design our smartphones and make sure they are at par with contemporary trends and, at the same time, are futuristic as well," Zopo founder Kevin Xu told reporters.

The Zopo Speed 8 comes with a 5.5 inch HD display. It has a 21-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The device is powered by a MediaTek 2GHz Deca-core Helio X20 MT6797 processor. It has 4GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory. The dual SIM device runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow and has a 3600mAh battery.

Shenzen Zopo Communication Equipment Company, commonly referred as Zopo Mobile, entered into the Indian market in August 2016. The company' flagship phones, the Zopo Speed 7 and the Zopo Speed 7 Plus, have already been launched in India. The company also launched its budget smartphone, the Zopo Hero 1, early this year.

"Zopo is a high-end Chinese smartphone brand available in 135 countries. It competes with brands like Samsung, HTC, LG, and Sony," Sajiv Bhatia of Zopo's Indian distributor Advantage Computers said recently. The Chinese handset maker is also planning to start manufacturing smartphones in India.

China's top smartphone makers like Xiaomi, Meizu, Oppo, Huawei, Lenovo, Vivo, Coolpad, and ZTE have captured a sizable part of Indian handset market. Zopo is also trying to cash in on India's smartphone craze.
