Shandong Luneng is currently on a four-game unbeaten streak which enabled them to climb out of the bottom two relegation area and settle at the 13th spot of the league table. They are now two points above the demotion zone with 11 games left in their campaign this term.
Taishan Dui is coming off a 4-1 demolition of lowly squad Hangzhou Greentown FC also at their home stadium in Jinan on Wednesday, the Daily Echo reported.
The hosts scored the first four goals of the match within regulation before Hangzhou was able to net a consolation goal in stoppage time to avoid a shutout.
Brazilian import Jucilei opened the scoring at the 41st to give head coach Felix Magath's side a one-point lead at the half. Midfielder Wang Yongpo doubled the lead ten minutes after the restart from a brilliant cross by teammate Liu Binbin.
The next two goals came from the club's newest acquisitions, strikers Graziano Pellè and Papiss Cissé, at the 87th and 89th minutes.
Meanwhile, Shanghai Shenhua played their first game without the injured Demba Ba and were beaten by Shijiazhuang Ever Bright, 1-2, at the Yutong International Sports Center on Thursday, via Soccerway.
Ba's replacement at center-forward, Obafemi Martins, netted the opening goal for the contest at the 18th minute, but Shijiazhuang forward Mao Jianqing and South Korean defender Cho Yong-hyung scored the next two goals to lead the hosts to the come-from-behind win.
It was Shenhua's second loss in their last three assignments as they stayed at the fifth spot of the current league table.
The predicted result is a tough 2-1 decision for Shandong Luneng for their fifth straight unbeaten performance.
