While the smartwatch hype may have been steadily deteriorating in the western market, China is still a lucrative market for many manufacturers. No.1 G4 recently hit the market, and it is stirring a lot of discussions in the tech community.

The No.1 G4, with its round face, looks like a traditional watch, something that will appeal to users who are comfortable with using conventional designs rather than highly advanced aesthetics. With the G4 No.1 made an impressive shift in design by reducing the bezel size, which in turn made room for a bigger display.

The back panel of the No.1 G4 is made of plastic, and on the cover sits the charging pins as well as the heart rate sensor. Under the cover is the battery pack and underneath it sits the microSIM and microSD slots, according to Giz China.

The No.1 G4 has a steel band, but the smartwatch very light and comfortable. For users who prefer leather bands, No.1 will release a leather version of the band in black or brown color. The metallic band is available in three color variants; black, gold, and silver.

The No.1 G4 has a 1.2-inch round IPS display with 240 x 240 resolution, according to Gear Best. While many tech analysts were expecting an AMOLED display, the LCD panel adequately does the job for the G4.

At the heart of the No.1 G4 is a MediaTek MT6261 chipset with 32MB of memory and 128MG of storage space which can be expanded via the microSD slot. The chipset supports 2G network and has a fairly decent set of sensors including gravity, pedometer, thermometer and UV light.

Unfortunately for iPhone users, the No.1 G4 can only sync with Android devices that are versions 4.4 or higher. The price of the No.1 G4 is around $40, a factor that makes it very enticing especially for budget conscious users who want a decent smartwatch.
