German Bundesliga powerhouse Borussia Dortmund is scheduled to meet English Premier League giants Manchester City in a China leg match of the 2016 International Champions Cup on Thursday, July 28 at the Longgang Stadium in Shenzhen.

Dortmund had already played their first match in the China preseason friendlies and it went favorably to head coach Thomas Tuchel's squad as they crushed City's old rivals Manchester United, 4-1, at the Shanghai Stadium last Friday, ESPN reported.

German midfielder Gonzalo Castro scored a brace to lead the Black and Yellows while first-team striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was also fielded in to support the team's offense.

Castro opened the scoring at the 19th minute with a brilliant individual move before Aubameyang, one of the top goalscorers in Bundesliga last term, buried a penalty kick at the 36th to give the Borussians a 2-0 lead at the break.

Their attack continued in the second half as 19-year-old French forward Ousmane Dembélé netted one at the 57th to make it 3-0.

It was an interesting game as former Die Borussen winger Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who provided United's lone goal at the 59th, is now playing for the Red Devils under new manager Jose Mourinho.

Castro's second goal of the night sealed the victory for the Germans as they won for the fourth time in their last five friendly games.

Meanwhile, Manchester City is coming off a 0-1 friendly defeat to Pep Guardiola's former club, Bayern Munich, at the Allianz Arena last Wednesday, as per BBC Sport.

The Bavarians' 20-year-old midfielder Erdal Ozturk scored the lone goal in the contest at the 76th minute to hand Guardiola a defeat in his debut game as new City coach.

The Citizens are supposed to open their 2016 ICC campaign against the Red Devils, but their Monday night game at the Beijing National Stadium was cancelled due to extreme weather conditions.

The predicted result is a 3-1 win for Borussia Dortmund.
