In 2015, Sheh rejoined the cast of "Return of the Cuckoo," a movie sequel to the TV drama with the same title. The 41-year-old actress reprised her role in the drama along with actor Chilam Cheung.
However, Champion Peak Corporation Ltd., the studio which took charge of the production of "Return of the Cuckoo," allegedly did not pay Sheh the remaining half of her fee, according to Oriental Daily.
Sources stated that the actress' contract with Champion Peak Corporation, which required her to work for twelve hours for 18 days, included a fee of $1.9 million HKD ($245,000 USD). The contract reportedly also included a clause stating that Sheh will receive an additional fee of $110,000 HKD ($14,180 USD) with each day the filming exceeded the schedule.
Furthermore, the actress' manager told the media that the filming schedule for "Return of the Cuckoo" exceeded expectations and that Sheh had to film for an extra 17 days. Sheh's fee should have been a total of $1,87 million HKD ($241,100 USD), according to Jaynestars, but the studio allegedly only paid her $935,000 HKD ($121,000 USD).
TVB is said to have filed a report against Champion Peak Corporation in the District of Hong Kong. The station is reportedly requesting that Champion Peak Corporation pays Sheh the remaining of her fee.
Sheh has not released an official statement regarding the matter, but TVB told the media that they would be representing the actress in the case.
