Anhui Wenyi Smashes Luoyang Zhonghe in 25th Round of Chinese National Basketball League

The league's second team Anhui Wenyi routed Luoyang Zhonghe in a lopsided 112-92 triumph in the 25th round of the Chinese National Basketball League (NBL) on Sunday.

With the win, the WeiDong Hu-headed team improved to a 22-3 win-loss record. Shaanxi Xinda is the current No.1 club in China's minor league with a 23-2 win-loss record.

According to Asia-Basket, former Cleveland Cavaliers reserve guard Manny Harris led the winning team with a brilliant performance of 44 points and 10 rebounds. The 26-year-old former Michigan Wolverines player went 15 for 28 from the field and made 14-19 from the free throw line in 44 minutes of playing.

Chinese guard Yonggang Zhang finished the match with 20 markers while American power-forward Chris Singleton had another double-double performance of 17 points and 20 rebounds. Local players Jian Li and Yansong Ma chipped in 16 points and 10 points respectively.

According to NowGoal, Anhui began the opening quarter by staging a 28-24 first-period run. The team with the longest winning streak this season entered the second half of the game with a 16-point lead 62-46, but Louyang staged a 30-21 run in the third frame to cut the deficit within seven 83-76.

In the final twelve minutes of the match, Anhui managed to regain the momentum and stormed the opposing team with a 29-16 fourth quarter outburst to seal the win.

Foreign basketball reinforcement Josh Powell paced Luoyang with team-high 27 points and 16 boards while fellow import Joe Jackson added 24 markers and seven rebounds with six assists.
