Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) team North Control Beijing has reportedly hired the services of the former Goshen Maple Leafs player Errick McCollum to play for the club in the upcoming 2016-17 season of the league.

According to Asia-Basket, McCollum, 28, recently played for Galatasaray in the 2015-16 season of the Turkish BSL league and the Eurocup. He averaged an impressive 15.0 points, 3.4 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game in the 34 official games that he played with Galatasaray.

The veteran 6-foot-2 inch tall American point guard helped the Turkish side make it to the semifinals in the league and was selected to play in the All-Star Game of the Turkish league. McCollum led Galatasaray to claim the 2015-16 Eurocup season's title, earning him also the right to be named Eurocup MVP.

McCollum, a native of Canton Ohio, is not a new-comer to the Chinese league. He played for the Zhejiang Golden Bulls in the 2014-15 CBA season.  The prolific scorer set a single-game scoring record of 82 points in January last year against Guangdong Southern Tigers.

According to RealGM, in his previous playing stint in China, McCollum registered outstanding stats of 39.6 points, 7.4 boards, 5.5 assists and 2.1 steals in 40.6 minutes of playing in the 38 matches that he appeared in. He had a 45.7 percent shooting accuracy from the field and 84.9 percent from the foul line.

McCollum also previously played in Greece (Panionios and Apollon Patras) and Israel (Hapoel Kfar Saba and GreenTops Netanya).

North Control finished 15th place in the 20-team basketball league last season. With the addition of McCollum in their lineup, the Fly Dragons are hoping to intensify their scoring more this season.
