ZTE has announced that it plans to crowdsource ideas for its next mobile device, giving fans a chance to share ideas on how the company's upcoming smartphone should look like.

The Chinese tech company launched the Project CSX, which is a crowd-sourced initiative where fans can submit ideas for the company's next smartphone.

Users can submit their ideas through ZTE's forum, Z-Community, and up-vote other ideas that they like. The best idea chosen by users can win cash prizes, a trip to CES 2017 in Las Vegas or early access to the final product, according to CNet.

“As a part of Project CSX, ZTE is committing to build a mobile product, by 2017 that is based upon your ideas and/or your votes. We’re listening to you, and to our community, because you know best. You don’t need some random person, in some unknown organization, to decide what’s best for you. This is your opportunity to let your voice be heard and for you to tell us what to build,” ZTE said in a statement.

There are no guidelines, fixed platform, or structure. The ideas submitted to Project CSX should be for a mobile product; it can be a phone, tablet, or even smartwatch. However, those interested must make their ideas as realistic as possible, Tech Crunch reported.

ZTE is the first smartphone manufacturer to call for ideas for a product, but it is not the first firm to turn to the public for suggestions. Mozilla crowdsourced its logo design in June.
