Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has launched its Virtual Reality headset.
Xiaomi made its foray into the virtual reality market with its smartphone-enable headset dubbed the Mi VR. The Xiaomi Mi VR only costs 1 Yuan (about $0.20).
While the low-priced Xiaomi Mi VR will surely attract many consumers, the virtual reality headset will be handed only to about two thousand pre-registered beta testers who were lucky enough to sign up for the program.

Virtual reality headsets are pretty straight-forward devices without many technical specs to be worried about. In fact, most headsets that are currently available in the market almost share the same set of features.
The Xiaomi Mi VR has lycra coating which the company claims will provide unparalleled comfort for users. This is a relatively new addition compared to the usual cardboard or hard plastic build of VR devices from other tech companies. The Mi VR comes with a zipper to hold the smartphone in place instead of the more common Velcro or snap latch.
According to Eweek, the Xiaomi Mi VR is not restricted to Xiaomi products only. The headset can be used to any smartphone provided that it measures between 4.7-inch and 5.7-inch. This means that the Mi VR can support most Android smartphones, as well as iPhones.
