Oppo has been busy marketing its upcoming F1s smartphone as a "selfie expert" device. However, some recent leaks may have unceremoniously revealed the device's specs prior to its official launch.

Based on some of the leaked information, the Oppo F1s has the specs of an upgraded Oppo F1 but is not as powerful as the F1 Plus. This means that the Oppo F1s may well be within the middle of two flagship devices in terms of hardware specs.

According to Giz China, the Oppo F1s has a 5.5-inch display with 1280 x 720 HD resolution. It has a MediaTek MT6750 chipset with 3GB of RAM. In comparison, the Oppo F1 Plus has a 5.5-inch Full HD display, a more powerful MediaTek MT6755 chipset and 4GB of RAM.

However, Oppo is marketing the F1s as a "selfie expert" and this has been the main topic of discussion on major tech forums. Looking at the leaked specs sheet, the Oppo F1s may well live up to its bill with the impressive 16-megapixel front-facing shooter and a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera. Coincidentally, the Oppo F1 Plus sports the same set of camera specs as the F1s.

Unlike the first entry in the series, the Oppo F1s will have a fingerprint scanner. On the other hand, there are speculations that the F1s will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop instead of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system, according to Slash Gear.

The official release date of the Oppo F1s has not been revealed, but there are speculations that it would hit the market in the next couple of weeks. The Oppo F1 is expected to have a price tag of $270.
