China (1-1-0, 3 points) and Sweden (1-1-0, 3 points) will face each other in a crucial Group E match in the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics women's football tournament to be held at the Estádio Nacional Mané Garrincha in the Brazilian capital city of Brasília on Tuesday, August 9.

After the two teams split their first two games of the tourney, both teams are now tied with three points each heading into the final round of the group stage. The winner of this game will have a firm hold of a quarterfinals berth alongside groupmate Brazil, who are on top of Group E and had already qualified in the last eight after winning their first two assignments.

China, who was stomped by Brazil in their opener, 0-3, bounced back with an impressive 2-0 second round conquest of South Africa at the Estádio Olímpico João Havelange in Rio de Janeiro last Saturday, as per NBC Olympics.

Striker Gu Yasha and winger Tan Ruyin provided the two goals for head coach Bruno Bini's side during the first half injury time and at the 87th minute respectively.

It was a much-needed win for the Steel Roses as they would have been at risk of getting eliminated should they lose another game in the group matches.

Meanwhile, Sweden was crushed by Brazil, 1-5, in their own second round match in the same venue in Rio also last Saturday, via SkySports.

Team captain Lotta Schelin scored the Blue-Yellows only goal one minute before full time after As Canarinhas netted the first five goals of the contest.

China and Sweden are actually evenly matched on paper, but the Steel Roses have the momentum going into this game following their amazing performance against South Africa.

The predicted result is a tough 2-1 win for China.

China starting lineup (4-4-2 formation): Zhao L.; Li, Liu, Gao, Zhao R.; Zhang, Pang, Wang, Tan; Gu, Yang
