The Chinese national volleyball team replicated their stellar performance against the Italians by beating Puerto Rico in straight sets on Wednesday at the ongoing women's volleyball competition in the 2016 Summer Olympics Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
According to Xinhua, the 2015 FIVB World Cup Most Valuable Player Zhu Ting once again had an outstanding game, leading the Chinese squad to their second consecutive victory. The 21-year-old outside hitter had 16 kills, three blocks and one ace as the Chinese women cruised to a 25-20, 25-17, 25-18 triumph.

Yuan Xinyue, 19, contributed nine points for the two-time World champion national squad.
Puerto Rico, who had lost two matches in a row, had a strong start against the Asian volleyball powerhouse, building up a 14-11 lead in the first set through a monster block against Zhu Ting. Then Yuan Xinyue scored a pair of aces to help China take the lead at 18-16 on the back of a 4-0 run. After that, the Chinese women took control of the match and Zhu clinched the set winner with a smash.
In the second and third set, China met no real resistance from the Puerto Ricans.
"We played a good match overall, but we were not quick enough to find our rhythm in the first set," said China coach Jenny Lang Ping.
According to Sina, with a 2-1 win-loss record in hand, China will play Serbia in their third pool B match on Friday.
"Serbia is a very strong team and we will fight point by point," Ping noted.
