Shanghai SIPG striker Asamoah Gyan is considering a loan move away from the Chinese Super League side to a still unnamed European squad after struggling to find first-team time this season.

Ghana Web reported that the 30-year-old Black Stars captain could push through with the loan switch "before the (summer transfer) window closes at the end of the month".

The 6-foot-1 Accra native has only appeared in 10 games this term, scoring only three goals in 17 shots on goal, and his playing time is expected to be further affected not only by his recurring injuries but by the arrival of Chinese transfer record signing Hulk from Zenit Saint Petersburg this summer.

Gyan is said to be searching for a new squad where he can play more in the starting lineup as he wants to "improve his fitness for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations next year" where he will again serve as captain of the Ghana men's national football team.

He is the Black Stars all-time leading scorer with 48 goals in 95 caps.

"We have spoken to the club about a loan move for Gyan and they have agreed," said Samuel Anim Addo, Gyan's local manager. "There are so many offers on the table but as we have always done we will look at the offers and check what best suits Gyan and decide on what to do."

Gyan is currently one of the highest-paid footballers not only in China but in the world with a staggering £227,000 weekly wage from the Red Eagles.

"Gyan is very focused on his career and has been training very hard, so we are looking at the options," the manager added.

Meanwhile, Ghana Soccernet indicated that Shanghai SIPG denied the rumors that Gyan was demoted to the reserve team of the said China top flight outfit.

The report even showed a photo of Gyan with fellow SIPG import Jean Evrard Kouassi of Ivory Coast spending time in training with the club's first team.
