In a report revealed at the 38th China Internet development forum, the Chinese Internet Network Information Center revealed that at the end of June, China's Internet video users surged to more than 514 million. This new figure represents an increase of 10 million compared to the statistics released six months ago.

The latest report simply shows that more than 72 percent of China's Internet users are using different kinds of Internet video services. In December 2015, the country's Internet video users exceeded music streamers for the first time. The new report also revealed that Internet video demand in China continues to grow and is slowly outpacing the demand for Internet music counterpart, according to China Tech News.

In terms of platforms used in getting Internet video services, it appears that the mobile platform has the biggest chunk of the pie. Analysts predict that by the end of the year, Internet video users on the mobile platform will reach at least 440 million. These means that at least 85 percent of Internet video users will be on the mobile platform.

Aside from the mobile platform, smart TVs are also becoming to be a trend in China. About 21 percent of China's Internet users are using smart TVs to access content on the web. Moreover, tech analysts are positive that virtual reality will be the next big thing when it comes to content delivery in China.

Earlier this month, Xinhua reported that there are more than 710 million Internet users in China. This represents about 51.7 percent of the country's total population.
