Coolpad Mega 2.5D 'Selfie' Smartphone Launched in India at $104, First Flash Sale on August 24

Chinese smartphone maker Coolpad on Wednesday launched its selfie-focused smartphone - Mega 2.5D - in India.
Priced at 6,999 Rupees (approx. $104), Coolpad Mega 2.5D will be available exclusively on Amazon India. The first flash sale will be held on August 24th, while registration for the flash sale started on August 10th.

The Coolpad Mega 2.5D has an 8 Mega Pixel front camera with an 83.6 degree field of view and f/2.2 aperture. The "selfie centric" smartphone also has an 8MP rear camera, which comes with auto-focus and Sony sensor. It features a 5.5-inch IPS display with 267 ppi and 2.5D Curve glass.
The dual-SIM smartphone runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with the Cool UI 8.0. It features a 2,500mAH battery, which offers 8 hours of talktime and 150 hours of standby time.
The device comes with 3GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 32GB. It runs on runs on a Quad-core processor and Android 6.0+CoolUI Operating System.
"Indians revolve more around selfie and now-a-days selfie has made front camera more important than the rear camera," Coolpad's India chief Syed Tajjidin said during the launch event.
Prior to the launch of Mega 2.5D, Coolpad launched its Note 3, Note 3 Lite, Note 3 Plus and Max models in India. Mega 2.5D is the Chinese smartphone maker's fifth smartphone launched in the Indian market.
"Currently we have achieved target of two-million sale, and once we achieve five million then in second phase we will both design and assemble products in India," Tajjidin said.
