An upcoming Huawei device, believed to be the highly anticipated Huawei Mate 9 smartphone, has been spotted on the online benchmarking website, GFXBench.

Earlier this month, there were speculations that the Huawei Mate 9 smartphone will be released in September at the IFA Expo. This speculation started after Huawei announced the scheduled press event.

According to GFXBench listing, the alleged Huawei Mate 9 smartphone is more likely to be a "Phablet" due to its massive display. The listing shows that the device features a 5.9-inch display screen that supports 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. The benchmarking site also hinted that the upcoming device would be powered by an octa-core HiSilicon Hi3660 processor along with Mali-T880 GPU onboard.

The Huawei Mate 9 smartphone is the successor to last year's Huawei Mate 8. The Mate 8 features a massive 6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS-NEO LCD screen protected by the fourth generation Corning Glass. The device is powered by an octa-core HiSIlicon Kirin 950 processor paired with Mali-T880 MP4 GPU.

The Huawei Mate 8 smartphone comes in two variant models - one with 3GB RAM/3GB internal storage and another with 4GB RAM/64GB internal memory. Both models are expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card slot. The device runs on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system out of the box, along with Emotion UI 4.0.

The Huawei Mate 8 sports a 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front facing shooter. The device is backed with a non-removable Li-Ion 4000mAh capacity battery. It measures a body dimension of 157.1 x 80.6 x 7.9 mm and weighs 185 grams.
