China's four-time World Aquatics Championships winner Shi Tingmao took her second Olympic gold medal at the ongoing 2016 Rio Games after conquering the women's 3-meter springboard event at the Maria Lenk Aquatics Centre on Sunday.
According to Xinhua, the 24-year-old Chongqing native tallied with 406.5 points to get the better of fellow Chinese He Zi by a margin of 18.15 points while the 31-year-old European champion Tania Cagnotto of Italy claimed the bronze with 372.80 points.

Shi and He were tied after the first two dives before the 2015 FINA Female Diver of the Year winner scored an event-high 84 points in the third round. The winning diver pushed ahead and never looked back to walk away with the win. Shi's victory was China's eighth-straight Olympic gold medal at the said event.
The Chinese diving star also won the gold medal in the women's 3-meter synchronized springboard with the 30-year-old five-time Olympic champion Wu Minxia on August 7.
"Today I can finally relax," Shi said after the competition. "Actually, I will probably just go back to the Olympic Village and sleep all day long and then cheer for the other athletes from the Chinese team."
According to China.org, the 25-year-old He, who is a native of Nanning, has now won two silver medals under her name in the women's 3m springboard event at the last two Olympics.
The Tianjin-based diver accepted her longtime boyfriend Qin Kai's marriage proposal after the contest.
"I didn't expect this at all," she said. "We worked really hard and put all of our efforts into this."
China has already won four of five possible diving gold medals so far at the Rio Games.
Meanwhile, China was placed second after Russia in the preliminary round of the synchronized swimming duet routine.
The Russians led with 98.0667 points, followed by the Chinese swimmers with 96.0667 points while Japan made it into third place with 94.4000 points.
