Reeling contenders Henan Jianye FC (8-10-4, 28 points) extended their losing streak to three games after suffering a 0-3 loss to lowly squad Hangzhou Greentown FC (7-11-4, 25 points) at the Yellow Dragon Sports Center in Hangzhou last Saturday.
The loss was also the seventh in the last nine outings of head coach Jia Xiuquan's side. Their current losing rut has plummeted the team down to the ninth spot in the 2016 Chinese Super League table from being settled as high as fifth place in the overall standings.

At 28 points, Henan is eight points ahead of the bottom two demotion zone, but they need to come up with wins during their final eight fixtures in this term to ensure that the team will stay in the first division domestic competitions next season.
An own goal from Henan Jianye left back Lu Yao at the 31st minute started the Green Giants' scoring spree in the match as the hosts took a one-point lead at the break, as per Soccerway.
Hangzhou doubled their lead at the 76th minute with a successful penalty kick from Brazilian striker Denilson Gabionetta before he assisted three minutes later to his teammate and compatriot Anselmo Ramon, who made the shot making it a 3-0 affair, Xinhuanet reported.
It was the fifth shutout loss for the Red Devils in their last nine matches as they were able to score only a point in both of their other losses, which indicates that Coach Jia's squad is clearly lacking in offense at the moment.
Filipino strikers Javier Patiño, Brazilian winger Ivo, and local midfielder Zhong Jinbao are the only players that have scored for Henan during this losing spell.
Meanwhile, the win was Hangzhou's second in their last three assignments after defeating Tianjin Teda, 3-1, in their round 20 fixture and dropping a 0-1 decision to Beijing Guoan in the last matchday.
Head coach Hong Myung-bo's side is currently at the 12 spot of the league table with 25 points, five points above the bottom two relegation area presently occupied by Shijiazhuang Ever Bright and Changchun Yatai.
