New Huawei GR3 and GR5 Smartphones Introduced Across Morocco's Markets

The new Huawei GR3 and GR5 smartphones has been released in Morocco. The move supports the Chinese-based smartphone manufacturer's aspiration to become the leading company in North and West Africa.

Morocco's General Director of Huawei Thomas Xu said last year that the company is aiming to triple its market share in the country over the next three years. Currently, the company's market share in Morocco is below three percent.

Xu said that the company's commercial strategy focuses on product distribution alongside its several partners. The company taking advantage of the big investment in 4G by three Moroccan operators; Inwi, Maroc Telecom, and Meditel, Morocco World News reported.

The GR3 has a 5-inch high-definition IPS display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and a pixel density of 294ppi. It is made of aluminum alloy. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6753T chipset. It comes with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage that can be expandable via SD memory card. It is packed with a non-removable 2200 mAh Li-Polymer battery. The device costs MAD 2079 ($214) and is available in gray, gold, and silver color.

The GR5 has a 5.5-inch high-definition IPS display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a pixel density of 401ppi. It is made of aluminum and magnesium alloys. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system that can be updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It comes with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. It is packed with a non-removable 3000 mAh Li-Polymer battery. The device costs MAD 2640 ($272) and is available in gray, silver, and white color.
