Asus ZenFone 3 Smartphones Enter India; Taiwanese Tech Giant’s CEO Recognizes India as Second Important Market

Taiwanese electronics giant Asus launched its Zenfone 2 series in India on Wednesday.

The new ZenFone 3 series smartphones including the Asus ZenFone 3, Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe, Asus ZenFone 3 Ultra, and ZenFone 3 Laser are now available on Indian online marketplaces including Flipkart, Snapdeal, and Amazon. Indians can also buy the new series of Asus ZenFone 3 smartphones at retail outlets across the country.

Priced at roughly $250, the Zenfone 3 comes with a 5.2-inch full high definition display, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The ZenFone 3 Deluxe, on the other hand, is priced at roughly $500 and comes with a 5.7 inch full HD display, a 23-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel front camera, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal memory and 3000mAh battery.

The Zenfone 3 Ultra, which features a 6.8 inch full HD display with 1080x1920 pixels resolution, has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The device, which has a 23-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera, is available for roughly $480. The ZenFone 3 Laser is a photo-centric smartphone with a 13-megapixel sensor and large f/2.0 aperture lens. The Zenfone 3 Laser, priced at roughly $285, is cheapest among the new range of Zenfone 2 phones introduced in India.

Asus' chief executive officer (CEO) Jerry Shen admitted at a launch event in New Delhi that India has become the second most important market for the smartphone maker. "It is the second most important country. China, India, and US that is what is always at the top of our mind, India even more so," he said.
