South Korea's current world No. 5 Inbee Park is on top of the ongoing women's 2016 Rio Olympic golf leader board thanks to her consistent performance after two rounds of play on Thursday while Feng Shanshan of China improved from the 19th to 13th after finishing a 4-under-par round.

Park, 28, has registered two successive days with 5-under-par 66. She made six birdies and endured a bogey to set a total of 132 shots. The South Korean golfer currently has a one-shot lead over the 31-year-old American Stacy Lewis, who had an 8-under-par round two on Thursday, according to Xinhua.

Charley Hull of Great Britain and Brooke Henderson of Canada are currently knotted at the fourth place with one shot behind.

While China's incumbent world No. 14 Feng finished 4-under-par 67 with six birdies and two bogeys.

"I was up and down from the start to the midway, birdie, bogey, then birdie again. I failed to convert a birdie in the 15th hole, before I made some adjustments to finish three birdies in a row," Feng said.

The Chinese golfer has turned her target from competing to enjoying in Rio as golf made its comeback to the prestigious quadrennial sporting event after a long 112 years since the 1904 Summer Olympics.

"My initial goal is to appear on the Olympic stage, which has come true. Now I need to enjoy the game here. Winning or not, enjoying this journey is the most important," she said. "Olympic Games are a little different from other tournaments that I played because I came here as a Chinese golfer. Maybe I feel a little down in professional tournaments, but on this stage, whatever happens, I should keep a smile."

Meanwhile, another golfer from China, Lin Xiyu, finished the Thursday's round at 74 after an 8-in-the-5-par 10th hole. The 20-year-old native of Guangzhou's ranking on the leader board is down by 10 from 37th a day earlier, China Gate reported.
