Shanghai SIPG striker Asamoah Gyan finally returns from injury not for his current Chinese Super League club but for his Ghana national team who is currently competing in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
With one more game left in the group stage against Rwanda on Sep. 3, Ghana had already topped Group H and advanced in the next round of competitions with 13 points, seven points ahead of second and third placers Rwanda and Mauritius.

The Black Stars have already qualified in the final tournament that will determine who will represent Africa in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia in June of next year as a prelude to the 2018 FIFA World Cup to be held also in the same country.
Gyan is ready to suit up for Ghana in the said final group round game against Rwanda to be held at their home ground of Accra Sports Stadium in the country's capital city of Accra, as per Shanghai Daily.
Black Stars head coach Avram Grant confirmed the availability of his team captain last Saturday after he announced the 23 players included in the national team moving forward.
Goalkeeper Adam Larsen Kwarasey, who recently transferred to Norwegian club Rosenborg BK from Major League Soccer's Portland Timbers, is also coming back from a hamstring injury to join Ghana in the AFCON qualifiers.
Portuguese LigaPro team SC Covilhã's Richard Ofori and Ashanti Gold SC's Kadri Mohammed are also included in the Black Stars roster against Rwanda early next month, News Ghana reported.
The 30-year-old Gyan has only played 10 games for Shanghai SIPG in the China top flight this season, scoring three goals, as he had suffered from recurring injuries. Rumors abound that his place in the Red Eagles first team is threatened by the arrival of fellow international player and Chinese transfer record signing Hulk last month.
The Accra native is the Black Stars all-time leading scorer with 48 goals in 95 caps.
