Shanghai SIPG striker Asamoah Gyan recently hinted of a potential transfer to English Premier League club Hull City AFC after meeting with the British High Commissioner as soon as he landed in Ghana on Tuesday to join the country's national team in the ongoing 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Ghana Soccernet reported the said development, saying that Hull City is "desperate for the signature of the Shanghai SIPG man", who had played in England before with another English top flight squad Sunderland AFC.

The Tigers are currently competing in the Premier League with only 13 senior players in their roster under caretaker manager Mike Phelan. The team had surprised many by winning their first two games of the newly-opened term, beating reigning Premier League champions Leicester City, 2-1, in their opener at home and then blanking Swansea City, 2-0, on the road in their second game.

Hull City is set to face powerhouse team Manchester United this Saturday and is eager to sign reinforcements to help the team move forward to the season.

Meanwhile, Pulse indicated that the 30-year-old Ghana national team captain is looking to move out of his current situation in the China top flight competitions after being "troubled with fitness problems and injuries" during his stay with Shanghai SIPG.

With the Red Eagles acquiring former Zenit Saint Petersburg forward Hulk last June, Gyan's first-team opportunities are also said to have become clouded. With both players receiving massive wages that count in the top five most expensive salaries in the world today, it seems inevitable that one of them has to go to sustain the expenditures of the club moving forward.

However, Gyan's huge compensation may become the stumbling block to his move back to England as it is not yet known whether Hull City will be prepared to pay him the same amount in case he decides to transfer.

Gyan is set to join the Ghana national squad in their final group stage match against Rwanda on Sep. 3 as the AFCON qualifiers continues to its final tournament afterward.
