The Beijing wildlife park where tigers fatally mauled a woman and injured another last month is not responsible for the victim's death, according to an official investigation by Beijing's Yanqing district government.
The investigation, which concluded on Wednesday (Aug. 24), found that the tourists violated park rules and ignored several warnings when they left their vehicle inside the tiger enclosure, which holds ten Siberian tigers, according to Agence France-Presse.

The tiger attack took place at Beijing's Badaling Wildlife World on July 23, when a middle-aged woman surnamed Zhao opened the door of her white sedan and walked over to the other side of the vehicle. The woman was standing by the driver's side when a tiger pounced on her and dragged her into the copse.
The husband and mother of the 32-year-old woman rushed to her rescue and tried to save her from the tiger when other tigers attacked the mother and mauled her to death, as previously reported.
The investigation report stated that the tourists should have adhered to the many signs posted all over the wildlife park and paid attention to the warnings repeatedly being broadcasted over loudspeakers telling visitors not to leave their vehicles at any cost due to the presence of wild and dangerous animals.
The report also pointed out that Badaling Wildlife World's needs to implement necessary measures to improve their promptness to react to such incidents and inform visitors of the potential safety hazards.
Park officials took approximately 15 minutes to shepherd the tigers into their pens before rescuers were able to attend to the mauled victim, according to the report.
