Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has announced the official specs and release date of its upcoming device in the Redmi Note series, the Redmi Note 4. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 builds on the specs and features of its predecessor, the Redmi Note 3.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 would sport an all-metal build, according to Giz China. It has a fingerprint scanner embedded on the back and boasts of an impressive set of specs.

The Xiaomi Note 4 has a 5.5-inch display with 1920 x 1080 resolution. It has a MediaTek Helio X20 MT6797m chipset with a deca-core processor clocked at 2.1GHz. The Note 4 comes in two variants depending on its storage space and memory. One model sports 2GB of memory and 16GB of storage space, the other one has 3GB of memory and 64GB of storage space.

On the camera aspect, the Note 4 has a 13-megapxiel rear facing camera and a 5-megapxiel front facing selfie shooter. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Xiaomi's MIUI 8.

The Note 4 supports Dual SIM setup. It also supports 4GB LTE connectivity. It comes in three colors: gray, gold, and silver. Powering the device is a non-removable 4100mAh battery pack.

The entry level model of the Note 4 with 2GB of memory and 16GB of storage space costs RMB 899 in China ($135). The slightly upgraded version with 3GB of memory and 32GB of storage sells for RMB1, 199 ($180).

According to CNet, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is slated for an exclusive sale on the Chinese market only and is expected to hit the shelves on Aug. 26. However, there are rumors that Xiaomi is also gearing up for an international release, especially in India where the Note 4's predecessor performed well on the market.
