Chinese smartphone manufacturer Homtom recently announced that it is working on a new device which it simply calls HT20. Homtom claims that the smartphone will combine the ruggedness of outdoor smartphones with the classic design and aesthetics of a business phone.

Homtom has confirmed that the HT20 would have a 4.7-inch display with HD resolution. The screen is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass. Powering the device is a MediaTek MT6737 chipset with 2GB of memory and 16GB of storage space. The HT20 run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, with support for 4G network, and will pack a 3500mAh battery. The smartphone is also expected to pack a 13-megapixel rear facing shooter.

The Homtom HT20 is also expected to have IP68 certification essentially making the smartphone waterproof and dustproof, according to Giz China. The HT20 is also enclosed in a new vacuum case and has a sturdy body. Most of the materials used to build the Homtom HT20 have passed military standard tests.

The Homtom HT20 is expected to be available in three color variants: vibrant white, army green, and elegant black. While the HT20 sports some decent specs, the main draw towards the device is its ruggedness and sturdy build which will no doubt appeal to users who have an outdoor lifestyle.
