China Releases Emergency Water Supply to Help Drought-Stricken Neighbours

China's Jinghong Hydropower Station has released emergency water supply of up to 2,190 cubic meters per second into the Mekong River to the immense relief of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. By Sunday, March 19, the water had reached Northern Thailand. The emergency water supply plan will last from March 15 to April 10.

According to the 2016 China Oil and Gas Industry Development Analysis and Development Report, issued by the China Petroleum Enterprise Association and China Oil and Gas Industry Development Research Center on March 21, China is the world's second largest oil refining country after the United States.
China to Send 3 Satellites to Space for Gravitational Wave Research Project

China laid the foundation for infrastructure of its "Tianqin" gravitational wave research project at the coastal city of Zhuhai on Sunday. This is the second Chinese proposal initiated for the exploration of gravitational waves in addition to the highly ambitious and expensive "Taiji" program.

The Wudalianchi Natural Reserve in north east China's Heilongjiang province on Friday, March 19 received the United Nation's Educational, Scientific, Cultural Organization's (UNESCO) prestigious Michel Batisse Award at the fourth World Congress of Biosphere Reserves in Lima, Peru.
