China Firm Constructs World's Biggest Nuclear Generator

China's major power generating equipment maker Dongfang Electrical Machinery Co. Ltd (DFEM) announced that it has completed construction of what can be considered as the world's biggest nuclear generator in terms of per-unit installed capacity.
China Spent $8.96 Billion to Help College Students in 2012

The China National Center for Student Financial Aid said the Chinese government spent a total of CNY54.8 billion, or $8.96 billion, as financial aid to college students in China last year as part of the country's efforts to boost education quality.
China's Online Shopping Nets $70.8 Billion

More and more Chinese consumers are now turning to the Internet to buy goods and avail of services, a recent survey conducted by iResearch, an Internet research company in China, showed. iResearch said total receipts from online shopping in the country reached $70.8 billion in the second quarter of this year.

Analysts who were expecting China's first quarter economic growth to hit at least 8 percent were disappointed when the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Monday announced a 7.7 percent growth in the January to March quarter.
China's poultry business suffers US$1 billion loss due to H7N9 scare

The China Animal Agriculture Association announced that China's poultry industry has already lost around 10 billion yuan (US$1.62 billion) due to the growing H7N9 scare in the mainland. And the figure only refers to direct losses.
