Amazon has lost $170 million in inventory commitments for the third quarter of 2014 alone, and is currently sitting on a $84 million inventory of Fire Phone units.

Amazon.com is reporting a $544 million operating loss in their Q3 earnings call, with CEO Jeff Bezos citing more losses to come.
