China's central bank said on Friday that it would stop issuing licenses to new non-bank payment agencies as regulators seek to efficiently regulate the fast-expanding non-banking payment industry.

China has seen a triple digit rise in payments by mobile phones, according to an e-commerce report.

The 2014 China Internet Financial Development Report said Chinese mobile phone payments jumped 707 percent year on year in 2013.
