China has advised the United States to be cautious in its words and actions with regards to the disputed Diaoyu Islands. The Ministry of National Defense served the stern warning to Washington on Friday after learning about the recent comments of a top United States Navy official.

The United States and Japan have drawn up a naval defense plan to wrest control over disputed islands in the East China Sea in the event of a Chinese invasion, a Japanese news agency has revealed.

Premier Li Keqiang will meet with South Korean President Park Geun-hye and Japan's Shinzo Abe in Tokyo on Sunday for the sixth China-Japan-South Korea trilateral summit. The meeting, which will be held at the Yeongbingwan guest house in the South Korean president's office and resident known as the Blue House, is the first such gathering between representatives of the three nations since a dispute erupted between them in 2012.
