China Spent More Than 2 Trillion Yuan on Water Projects From 2011 to 2015

Data reveals that China has spent over 2 trillion yuan (nearly $304 billion) on water projects from 2011 to 2015. The water resource ministry reported that benefits from the investment include safe drinking water, agricultural irrigation, flood control, rural hydropower and drought relief.

China has began constructing what will be the third biggest hydropower station in the country and the seventh largest in the world. The project, which approximately costs over 100 billion yuan (USD 15.4 million), will be located on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River.
