Chinese authorities are reportedly planning to build a huge football stadium in Shanghai with the capacity to hold up to 50,000 spectators. The move would mark another big step in China's ambitious pursuit to transform itself into a major football power.

Chinese businessman Tony Xia has bought popular English football club Aston Villa for estimated 60-70 million pounds. The deal comes just few weeks after the Midlands based club was relegated from top flight premiership.
