On Friday, the last day of the G7 Summit, the participating leaders issued a strong statement on the dispute in the South and East China Seas. Although no country was specifically mentioned, the statement is apparently directed towards China.

In clear defiance of China's demands, G7 leaders on Thursday discussed the contentious issues of South China Sea and East China Sea, which has escalated tensions in Western Pacific region. The discussion was initiated by Japan, who rejected China's request that the maritime territorial disputes are not discussed at the G7 Summit.
British Prime Minister Urges China to Respect Ruling of Arbitration Court on South China Sea Dispute

British Prime Minister David Cameron on Wednesday called on China to respect and abide by the judgment of the international arbitration tribunal in the case filed by the Philippines against Beijing in 2012 over the South China Sea dispute. The court is expected to be handed down a ruling in the coming weeks.
