Mexican authorities on Tuesday arrested a former mayor and his wife both suspected of masterminding an attack that left six people dead and 43 students missing in September.

Officials testing 28 remains found at a mass grave in southern Mexico revealed that they have yet to find a single match for the missing students since the attack linking local law enforcement officials.

Mass graves have been discovered by authorities in the southern part of the Mexican state of Guerrero. Although no official announcement with respect to the actual number of corpses found had been provided, investigators allegedly located scorched remains of roughly 20 people in the area.
