China's ACP100 Nuclear Reactor 'Linglong One' Receives Approval for Construction

China's first project to feature the third-generation ACP100 nuclear reactor, called the Linglong One, has completed its preliminary design stage and is expected to be built later this year in the Changjiang Li Autonomous County of Hainan.

China evacuated half a million people in the wake of Typhoon Sarika hitting Hainan. The country has also issued a red alert. A large number of flights bound to Hainan have also been cancelled. The typhoon landed at Hele Town at 9:50 in the morning. Sarika is the 21st typhoon of the year.
