Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe ruled out giving in to demands of terrorists, condemning as "outrageous and impermissible" the apparent death of a Japanese hostage, Haruna Yukawa, at the hands of Islamic State militants.

A masked militant apparently from the Islamic State threatened to kill two Japanese citizens, in a video posted online on Tuesday, unless Japan paid the hostage-takers $200 million in three days.
