Manny Pacquiao wins his third fight against Timothy Bradley on April 9, Saturday, at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand with an estimated audience of more than 14,000 attendees. The three judges arbitrating the bout have garnered a 116 – 110 mark in favor of the 37-year-old Filipino boxing champ. Pacquiao and Bradley’s history started in 2009 at the same venue when the latter beat the former on a 12-round fight in which the former lost his WBO welterweight title. A rematch ensued in Aoril 2012 and Pacquiao regained the said title via unanimous decision. The third fight’s rounds 7 and 9 were especially noteworthy as they have become the winning streak for Pacquiao .Numerous left-hand punches during these rounds were released by the world professional champion which ultimately sent Bradley tumbling over. Bradley, with a total of 37 fights (33 wins in which 13 were via knock-out, 2 losses, 1 draw, and 1 with no contest), has seemed to fight heroically but failed to match the rigorous strength of Pacquiao. He eventually succumbed to defeat later in the game. According to his camp, Pacquiao has particularly prepared for the recent competition as he wanted to leave a legacy of great sportsmanship among his fans and followers. Indeed, the eight-division boxing world champ has incidentally announced his retirement following the Bradley fight. During his post-fight interview, Pacquiao was caught saying, “As of now, I am retired. I want to be with my family. I want to serve the people.” Pacquiao is currently running for a senatorial post in the Philippines and is expecting to have the results after the country’s May 9 national election. To date, the “People’s Champ” played a total of 66 fights with 59 wins, 38 of which are knock-out games, six losses in which three were via knock-outs, and two draws.
