Jon Stewart, a comedian and the host of "The Daily Show," reportedly had talks with the president of NBC News and was offered to host the currently running "Meet the Press," a report that has been a hot topic on Twitter Wednesday afternoon.

NBC TV's "Meet the Press" Host David Gregory was unceremoniously fired on Thursday causing a firestorm of recrimination. Chuck Todd, NBC political director, was named to replace the controversial host of the weekly Sunday news interview program that debuted on Nov. 6, 1947.
