South Korea to Pump $20 Billion in Economy Hard Hit by MERS

South Korea has announced this Friday, July 3 its plans to pump at least $20 billion in its economy which has suffered due to the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) virus.
Saudi Arabia Confirms 5 MERS Cases As 16th Death Reported In South Korea

Over the past week, there have been five cases of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome confirmed in Saudi Arabia, according to a statement from its Ministry of Health. Of the cases, one is the death of a man, 73, in Turaba City. The elderly man reportedly had a preexisting illness prior to contracting MERS.

An expert team from the World Health Organization more cases of infections from the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome is to be expected in coming weeks as the outbreak in South Korea has turned out to be larger and more complex than in other countries.

The 11th death from the outbreak of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome in South Korea has been confirmed. On Friday, South Korea’s Health Ministry said the 11th death is that of a 72-year-old woman, adding that she previously had pneumonia.
