The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) learned that five Chinese pharmaceutical companies have been conspiring to fix the price of allopurinol.

Japan's star auto parts supplier NSK got slapped with a $28.2 million (USD) fine by Chinese anti-monopoly regulators. The hefty sum comes as part of an ongoing anti-monopoly investigation.

Automakers in China may soon face 10 percent revenue penalties by the Chinese government, in an effort to reduce and eliminate anti-monopoly activities. A spokesman for the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) insisted on Wednesday that an ongoing investigation into Fiat and Volkswagen, which own Crysler and Volkswagen respectively.
