The Los Angeles Lakers hope to boost its interior defense by nabbing 7'2" free-agent JaVale McGee to join fellow 7'2" player Roy Hibbert at center. The Lakers, along with the Dallas Mavericks, are front runners in landing McGee.
Josh Smith Says he Joined Clippers to Start Winning

Forward Josh Smith bolted the Houston Rockets to start winning with the Los Angeles Clippers where he signed a one-year deal worth a veteran's minimum of $1.5 million, according to ESPN. The free-agent forward played 55 games for the Rockets last season, coming of the bench to score in double digits in 35 of 48 games.
Andrea Bargnani Rejects Big Money from Kings, Joins Nets Instead

The Brooklyn Nets have signed former No. 1 draft pick Andrea Bargnani to a two-year veterans minimum deal with a player option after one season. The Sacramento Kings, who were offering more money over the next two seasons, were closing in on a deal with Bargnani when the Nets swiped him away. However, Bargnani preferred the "fit" with the Nets.
Mavericks Settle for Zaza Pachulia After Being Spurned by DeAndre Jordan

The Dallas Mavericks settled for Zaza Pachulia after DeAndre Jordan made a 180 degree turn from signing with them and returned to the Los Angeles Clippers. The Mavs traded a second-round pick to the Milwaukee Bucks and took in Pachulia's $5.25 million expiring contract into their salary-cap space.
