Maryam Mirzakhani: First Female to Earn Nobel Prize of Math

For the first time since its inception in 1937, the Fields prize - said to be the Nobel Prize of Math Awards - has been awarded to a woman. Maryam Mirzakhani is an Iranian mathematician. Her win is a symbolic victory for gender equality in the male-dominated field.
