Honda Adds 21 Million More Cars to Takata Recall List

Japanese car manufacturer Honda has announced that it is expanding its recall order involving cars that may have been equipped with faulty airbags from Takata. A Honda senior executive confirmed that at least 21 million more cars worldwide will be added to the current recall list.

Japanese car manufacturer Honda recently announced that it will issue a new recall order involving at least 2.2 million more cars due to faulty Takata air bags. The figure includes the 500,000 cars that was originally reported on Feb. 3. Honda added that a separate air bag defect will force the company to recall at least 341,000 more cars.

Chinese authorities said on Tuesday that Honda Motor and its two joint ventures in China would recall 569,769 cars due to potentially defective air bags which the carmaker said were made by Japan's Takata Corporation.
