Despite China's efforts in opening up its market to entice more foreign investors, economic analysts said on Monday the step may be a little too late given the impending assumption into office of US president-elect Donald Trump who has been throwing his trade tirades against China.

Online shopping website TaoBao has announced that the rand LeEco Le Max 2 smartphone is now on sale for only $233 (approximately 1549 Yuan / Rs. 15,589.74). The LeEco Le Max 2 smartphone was initially launched in China with a price tag of 2,099 Yuan (around $315).

Alibaba-backed Chinese e-commerce platform Taobao is facing some serious regulatory scrutiny due to the company's reputation of being the primary outlet for cheap, and counterfeit goods. In a bid to shake off this unwanted attention, Taobao has tapped the creativity of at least 72 sellers to flaunt their creations during the company's three-day Taobao Maker Festival held in Shanghai.
