Dalai Lama Commences Mongolia Visit, Overlooks China’s Objection

The Dalai Lama is most likely going to earn China's ire once again, as the controversial Tibetan spiritual monk commenced his four-day visit to Mongolia on Friday, despite Beijing's stern warning that the Mongolian government must bar the monk from entering the country.

Countering the Dalai Lama's influence in the Tibet's ethnic affair will be our "highest priority," China's Communist Party's new Secretary for Tibet Wu Yingjie said. The statement comes nearly a month after his appointment as Tibet's new chief.
Bon Jovi's China Tour Canceled 'for Some Reasons'

The promoter for American rock star Bon Jovi's first gig in China announced on Wednesday that the shows have been canceled. Although no specific reason were mentioned, international observers believe that Chinese authorities may have prevented the show due to the artist's music videos featuring scenes of the 1989 Tiananmen Square demonstrations and images of the Dalai Lama.
